I will not leave you as orphans. I will come for you...John 14:18
This is a sweet reminiscence of our adoption journey to our son.

What really happened...

"Many of you know, I am a home body and quite introverted. I have been on the phone several times today trying to get this next step processed quickly. It has been a hard day and today of all days I have had to really step out of my shy comfort zone and fight for our little guy! I haven't felt this helpless in quite a while. Being a momma bear is not fun! But he needs us and he needs us quickly! Please pray. That is all."

This is what I posted of Face book, but I feel like it's really important to tell you what really happened.

Way back in August when my friend Beka went to visit Chu's swi, I saw the other children there. I saw how malnourished they were. Beka told me that Chu was shockingly small. That she thought he only weighed 11 pounds and could wear 3 month clothing.

It scared me!
We knew our Chu was tiny super super tiny. Our last updated measurement had him 13 lbs and 24 inches tall at two years old! That's 3 to 6 month clothing.
But his SN is one that could explain his tiny-ness.
Then I saw the other kids at the swi and realized that his tiny-ness could be caused malnutrition.
I contacted my caseworker who recommended we ask for another update. Her exact words were. "Yes, that is very concerning. Let's start and get an update."
So the update came Aug 31st. It had pictures of him in his diaper. Let me tell you, you could see every bone!  However,  It had Chu as 14 lbs and 25 inches tall. Just enough growth that I wasn't sure I could use that for an expedite. (I also had many other adoptive parents telling me not to bother.) So, we didn't pursue and expedite at that point.

Then Christmas came and I woke up with a feeling of worry. A day later my friend Kat sent me an email. Kat's little girl had been at the swi with Chu. Here's the link to read about what she told me here. Be sure and look at the second to last picture!

One more thing happened, A friend messaged me on face book and asked me why I wasn't expediting. She told me I needed to and to get on it! So I did!
I called a doctor that I have alot of respect for. He had seen Chu's chart. He's in my church. He's one of our best doctors. He told me NO! He said he had written expedite letters and that they never work. I was so upset. So upset. I begged him to reconsider and he told me No again.
I went to my room and prayed. My answer came and the answer was, "He hasn't seen what you've seen. He doesn't know unless you tell him."
So I did. I sent him and email with all of story in it. He called me back and said he would write it.!
I got the letter and it was disappointing. It was written well but not strong. My case worker said she would send it with our Article 5 but she didn't think it would work. Then just four days later. I got this on the phone,""Lacy, I am in complete shock and had to look twice to make sure but it's good news. Your Art 5 was issued today! This is seriously a MIRACLE! Tell those who prayed for you it worked!"
There you have it. The rest of the story.
